Some time ago, in 2023 I found dancing. It’s been an emotional journey that I never even expected to be on.
I like to draw shapes with my body, and weave different shapes together, and translate the music onto something physical.
I’m usually a wordy person, but for dancing, i’ll let my movement speak for themselves.

My personal style is focused on Flow and Feeling.
Currently, I’m a self-taught dancer exploring Contemporary and Hip Hop.

It’s not always possible to put into words but its like I have to use a different language than what my intellectual mind is so familiar with?

The body speaks a different tounge, how silly and arrogant to think i could try to use words to describe it.
It’s a whole different alphabet, and it’s only getting bigger and bigger.

Dance taught me that you can practice anything and get better just by sheer time and effort.

You also must not forget WHY you do it. Is it for enjoyment, curiosity, love, passion, or is it to be the best or crazy good and cool and badass? If my focus was being the best then I don’t think I would have started dancing, because I knew nothing about it before and would never thought I could do it. I danced after finding out i enjoyed moving my body.

And an element that I CANNOT forget, which is Love.

I found the love of my life. And I followed that Love despite my own doubts, despite frustration, despite not knowing anything about dance or having taken any classes. I think that is a very pure thing, and I’m proud of myself for this.
For letting my curious heart guide the way.

Dance has provided me with both an inquisitive AND meditative activity/medium,
one that grounds me more in the present moment,
and re-members me with this body that I am now learning to take care of,
because it is my only home in this brief and bizarre flicker of being Alive.

I’m uncertain what the future holds, but I know dancing is here to stay for a long time.

For as long as I have a human body, and for as long as my desire to find/draw/create shapes/forms/patterns/lines is still alive.
